Celebremos juntos Latino Conservation Week 2022. Únete a Huellas Latinas y MN State Parks & Trails para disfrutar de un campamento de 2 noches en Itasca State Park desde el 15 al 17 de julio.

I Can Camp! es un programa de Minnesota State Parks & Trails el cual, contribuye al desarrollo de las habilidades necesarias para disfrutar de los campamentos en los Parques Estatales de Minnesota de manera cómoda y segura. En esta oportunidad, Huellas Latinas y Minnesota State Parks & Trails se complacen en hacer un partnership para ofrecer un I Can Camp Program de 2 noches para las Familias Latinas.

El programa I Cam Camp con Huellas Latinas será ofrecido a 10 familias latinas y se llevará a cabo en Itasca State Park desde el viernes 15 de julio hasta el domingo 17 de julio. El programa comprende diversas actividades para la familia, adultos y niños, entre ellas: instrucciones sobre la instalación de campamento, la cocina al aire libre y seguridad con estufas, la construcción de fogatas, los equipos para acampar y habilidades de campamento. Además, contaremos con tiempo libre para disfrutar en familia haciendo hiking, nadando, jugando, observando aves u otras actividades divertidas.

The goal of this event is to celebrate and encourage the connection of Latino(x), Hispanic and other communities of color to nature and the outdoors while kicking off Latino Conservation Week 2022 statewide.

The St. George Dinosaur Discovery Site is offering a private tour of the Dino Museum for Latino Conservation Week! Come explore an Early Jurassic ecosystem complete with dinosaurs, plants, fishes, and more. Let them tell you the story of Earth and St. George’s ancient past. New signs in Spanish. CATE is the mobile health unit (Community-Accessible Testing and Education) sponsored by Latino Connection and the Pennsylvania Department of Health. CATE will be at Beltzville and Neshaminy State Parks with free COVID-19 vaccines for adults and children as well as a host of interactive games and information.

On July 19, Trempealeau National Wildlife Refuge will be hosting Arcadia summer school field day. Here we will be having summer school students come out to the refuge and participate in environmental education programs, and we celebrating Latino Conservation Week. Kids will be learning about birds, waterfowl, and local animals and what a refuge does for local wildlife. After a fun day full of different games and learning activities, we hope to establish a lasting relationship with the school by giving the students explore bags. These bags will contain field guilds for local birds and wildlife so that they can explore and ID different wildlife on their own when they return home. We hope to see them come again next year and be ready to learn more about the outdoors and show us theirs skills they have gained on their own.

The Frontera Land Alliance is kicking off Latino Conservation Week with a fun volunteer workday!

Connect with your food and learn where your vegetables come from and what it takes to grow them! Join us for this hands-on workday at a local Socorro Farm, Bodega Loya, a.k.a. Growing with Sara Farm!

Póngase sus zapatos para mas comodos y acompane a un naturalista del refugio en una caminata de 0.89 millas alrededor de Marsh Trail. En esta caminata, se aprenderá acerca de los signos de la vida silvestre, la historia de los Everglades, la importancia del agua, ¡e quizas hasta lluege a observar algunas aves zancudas, venados/ciervos, y lagartos! Es recomendable utilizar zapatos de punta cerrada,y llevar agua, y un sombrero.

Get your walking shoes on and join a refuge naturalist on a 0.89 mile walk around the Marsh Trail. On your walk, you’ll learn about signs of wildlife, the history of the Everglades, importance of water, and you may even see some large wading birds, deer, or alligators! Closed toe shoes, water, and a hat are recommended.
