Dia de Ciclismo en el Sendero Estatal de Hank Aaron, Neighborhood Day - Biking on the Hank Aaron State Trail
Prueba nuestro equipo por tu cuenta, conéctate con la naturaleza de una manera nueva y aprende lo que el Valle tiene para ofrecer. Podrás tomar prestada una bicicleta y un casco de 10 am a 2 pm para explorar el Sendero Estatal Hank Aaron y el Parque Three Bridges. Nuestro equipo estará disponible por orden de llegada.
Try out our equipment on your own, connect with nature in a new way, and learn what the Valley has to offer. Borrow one of our bikes as you explore the Hank Aaron State Trail and Three Bridges Park. You will be able to borrow a bike from 10-2 pm to use right in our backyard. We will provide you with a bike and a helmet. Supplies are available on a first-come basis.
Latino Conservation Week Kick-off Fiesta
Join us for a day of celebration and community as we kick-off Latino Conservation Week with a Beach Cleanup!
The beach cleanup will begin at 10am, followed by a celebration with food, music, and community organizations at 12pm.

Para el evento de Latino Conservation Week vamos a dividirnos en 2 grupos:
Un grupo hara un recorrido en kayak, y otro grupo va a ir al Rio Colorado a tener actividades en el agua.
Pensamos tener estos dos eventos el mismo dia, Julio 22 de 10am- 12pm
El cupo es limitado y la gente se tendra que registarse previamente, ya que nosotros les daremos una playera y refrigerio el dia del evento.
Los grupos se encontraran en CAF: 2010 Haren Dr, Henderson, NV 89074 y de manejaremos juntos a la destinación final.
no tenemos limite de edad para la actividad del Rio Colorado, pero si para la actividad del kayak (12+ años)
Los dos grupos tomaremos un tiempo para aprender de la importancia del rio y limpiaremos el rio como una muestra de agradecimiento por todo lo lindo que nos brinda.

For Latino Conservation Week 2023 Latino Outdoors is partnering up with Defenders of Wildlife for an in-person event held in Galveston, Texas from July 21-23, 2023. This event Latino Outdoors Tejas includes activities to support leaders in the Latino community working to protect our natural resources including a habitat restoration project benefiting Texas coastal habitats and wildlife. Leaders and volunteers from the Latino Outdoors Austin, San Antonio, and Houston chapters are coming together for the first time ever to celebrate Latino Conservation Week! This event will demonstrate the Latino community's commitment to conservation by partnering with Latino/a/e community leaders and organizations to support local conservation issues.
Sabores de Mi Patria: La Comida es Cultura- Food is Culture
Acompáñanos en La Comida es Cultura/Food is Culture, la segunda presentación de este año de nuestro programa Sabores de Mi Patria/Flavors of My Homeland. Presentada en asociación con Artes de México en Utah, esta taller se llevará a cabo en el campus de Wasatch Community Gardens. Este taller será completamente en español, con traducción al inglés según sea necesario.
Este taller será una presentación interactiva de prácticas ancestrales agrícolas sostenibles aplicables en el mundo moderno. A través del arte y la comida, hablaremos de la milpa como símbolo de identidad y compartiremos en grupo memorias culturales.
El campus de Wasatch Community Gardens está ubicado en 629 E 800 S, SLC. La inscripción es gratuita. Comenzaremos dentro y habrá oportunidades para interactuar con el jardín. Agua estará disponible. La duración del programa será de dos horas.

Join us for La Comida es Cultura/Food is Culture, this year's second presentation of our Sabores de Mi Patria/Flavors of My Homeland workshop series. Presented in partnership with Artes de México en Utah, this workshop will be held at the Wasatch Community Gardens' Campus and presented entirely in Spanish, with English translation as needed.
This workshop will be an interactive presentation of sustainable ancestral farming practices applicable in the modern world. Through art and food, we will talk about the milpa as a symbol of identity and share cultural memories in a group.
The Wasatch Community Gardens' Campus is located at 629 E 800 S, SLC. Registration is free. We will begin inside and there will be opportunities to interact with the garden. Water will be provided. Expected program length is 2 hours.

Corkscrew Hammock Day at Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary

Come out on Corkscrew Hammock Day to explore the 2.25-mile long boardwalk that serves as the gateway to a gentle, pristine wilderness, with giant cypress trees over 500 years old. Relax your body, mind, and soul as you immerse yourself in old Florida wilderness alongside the boardwalk, as it meanders through pine flatwood, wet prairie, marshes, and the largest old-growth bald cypress forest in North America. Keep your eyes peeled for the "Super" ghost orchid, alligators, otters, white-tailed deer, red-bellied turtles, and a wide variety of blooming plants, wading birds, songbirds, and raptors.

Casa De Los Murciélagos
Join TREESOURCES for Latino Conservation Week. Our staff will guide you through the ins and outs of murcielagos (bats). Participants will get hands on in building a bat house out of locally sourced lumber. Treesources staff Alex Held-Martinez will teach about the types, importance, habitats, and ID-ing of Florida bats.
This event is free and open to all ages.
Please wear closed toe shoes and bring a bottle of water and sunscreen.
