Join Tampa Bay Kayak Anglers, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to introducing new audiences to kayak fishing, ethical angling, safe boating, and conservation, for a special evening celebrating Latino Conservation Week and Hispanic Heritage Month.

The celebration will take place on Thursday, September 17, beginning at 6:30 PM, at GTE Financial Headquarters, located at 711 E. Henderson Ave., Tampa, FL 33602.

Guests will enjoy exclusive screenings of Casting Our Heritage: Hispanics in Tampa Bay Waters and From Sea to Soul, two inspiring short films that highlight the cultural connections, personal stories, and conservation efforts taking place throughout Tampa Bay's waters.

In addition to the film screenings, attendees will have the opportunity to network with community members, outdoor enthusiasts, conservation partners, and local organizations while learning more about Tampa Bay Kayak Anglers' mission and the impact our programs have on youth and families across the Tampa Bay region.

The evening will also feature light refreshments, snacks, door prizes, and opportunities to connect with others who share a passion for fishing, paddling, conservation, and outdoor recreation.

Join us for a fun, family-friendly volunteer day where people of all ages are welcome to help beautify Amelia Earhart Park.

After the volunteer project, you're invited to stay for a Public Reading of Scripture as we gather together in community and reflection.

This event is hosted in partnership with Hispanic Access' Latino Conservation Week and our local community partner, EcuMiami.

Light snacks and refreshments will be provided for all volunteers.

Join  National Park Service George Washington Memorial Parkway, Green Latinos, and Urban Adventure Squad for a Latino Conservation Week Celebration.  The Friends of Mount Vernon Trail will be picking up trash from 9am-11am near Theodore Roosevelt Island. There will also be community tabling (10am-2pm) in celebration of Latino Conservation Week. Activities include completing Junior Park Ranger activities and earning a Junior Ranger badge, learning from National Park Rangers and conservation groups about the park and the watershed, a hike on the island led by a park ranger, and free giveaways.

Environmental Education of New Mexico is proud to announce the 2026 NM Outdoor Learning Summit on September 12, 2026 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

This unique event will bring together teachers, nonprofit leaders, and government agency staff for a day of building collaborations, sharing stories, and celebrating the unique cultural and physical landscapes of New Mexico. Attendees will experience hands-on sessions with local experts on topics such as youth-led decision making, bilingual program design, and much more!

This year’s summit will be accompanied by a Summit field trip on Sunday, September 13th at the Los Ranchos Agri-Nature Center. Programming at the event will center around teaching through gardening and growing. The field trip will run from 9am-12:30pm and will include a tour of the center, a workshop with a local outdoor learning provider, and lunch.

Nuestra Herencia, Nuestra Tierra- Pedaling for Our Land is a bilingual, family-friendly event hosted by the Idaho Hispanic Foundation as part of Latino Conservation Week and our annual El Grito celebration, which kicks off Hispanic Heritage Month. Families will gather at the Idaho Hispanic Community Center and we will start with a bicycle and helmet fittings and giveaways and allow them the time to decorate their bicycles with nature-inspired and recycled materials before participating in a guided bike ride. Along the route, children and families will face common obstacles which we will help them learn to navigate and they will engage in interactive conservation activities focused on protecting pollinators, wildlife, water resources, and public parks. The event will conclude with more bicycle safety education, healthy refreshments, and conservation resources to help families continue enjoying Idaho's parks and outdoor spaces long after the event.  This is a part of a larger Hispanic Heritage month celebration with El Grito, food and artisan vendors, cultural performances and more.  

Many Latino families face barriers to accessing outdoor recreation, including limited equipment, lack of familiarity with local parks, language barriers, and limited opportunities to participate in culturally welcoming outdoor activities. Our event removes these barriers by providing a free, bilingual, family-centered experience that introduces participants to bike riding and bicycle safety and encourages continued use of Idaho's public spaces. Through conservation education, bicycle safety instruction, helmet distribution, and bicycle giveaways, families will leave with the knowledge, confidence, and equipment needed to enjoy nature beyond the event. By integrating conservation into our Hispanic Heritage Month kickoff celebration, we also demonstrate that caring for our environment is an important part of celebrating our culture and investing in future generations.

Takaape’ Waashut Northeast Los Angeles Black Walnut Day is an annual gathering held during harvest season to honor the Southern California Black Walnut as a resilient member of our Indigenous, Latine, Chicanx, migrant and BIPOC community. Black Walnut Day was born out of the struggle against a multimillion dollar development that would have destroyed 110 Black Walnut trees and habitat, as well as threaten 900 nearby tenants with economic displacement. Reclaiming this Land has led to regenerating relationships with the land and Peoples across Northeast Los Angeles.

Tierra y Arboles: El futuro es nuestro is an environmental education workshop developed by New Earth Regeneration Initiative (NERI) that explores the essential relationship between healthy soils, trees, and resilient communities. 

Participants will learn the fundamentals of soil health, the role of organic matter and soil organisms in creating living soils, and how healthy soils support stronger trees, conserve water, store carbon, and help address climate change. The workshop also highlights the importance of native trees, urban forests, and community participation in restoring ecosystems and creating healthier neighborhoods. 

Through engaging discussions and hands on activities participants will discover how small actions such as properly managing organic waste, improving soil quality, and planting trees can contribute to a more sustainable future. 

The Resource Conservation District of the Santa Monica Mountains needs your help to care for the fire impacted oak trees of Trippet Ranch in Topanga State Park.

During this event volunteers will help the RCDSMM care for our local oak woodland by watering, weeding, and mulching oak trees as well as potentially planting new acorns to replace those trees that may have died. Volunteers will also collect meaningful data to aid in an ongoing reforestation project the RCDSMM has been conducting since 2018. Please wear clothes you are willing to get dirty as well as durable shoes. Be sure to bring a sun hat, layers and drinking water.

We will be meeting in the parking lot of Trippet Ranch located in Topanga State Park. Carpooling to this event is encouraged as parking is limited!

Be aware during this event we will be asking volunteers to hike roughly 0.5-2 miles to access planting sites and the terrain is uneven and may require off-trail trekking.

We look forward to your help in our efforts to reforest and heal the wildlands of the Santa Monica Mountains in the wake of destruction from the Palisades Fire.
