Join us for a fun, family-friendly volunteer day where people of all ages are welcome to help beautify Amelia Earhart Park.

After the volunteer project, you're invited to stay for a Public Reading of Scripture as we gather together in community and reflection.

This event is hosted in partnership with Hispanic Access' Latino Conservation Week and our local community partner, EcuMiami.

Light snacks and refreshments will be provided for all volunteers.

Important: By registering via EventBrite, you will be receiving an invitation via email to register with the Miami-Dade Parks department as an event-day volunteer.

Join  National Park Service George Washington Memorial Parkway, Green Latinos, and Urban Adventure Squad for a Latino Conservation Week Celebration.  The Friends of Mount Vernon Trail will be picking up trash from 9am-11am near Theodore Roosevelt Island. There will also be community tabling (10am-2pm) in celebration of Latino Conservation Week. Activities include completing Junior Park Ranger activities and earning a Junior Ranger badge, learning from National Park Rangers and conservation groups about the park and the watershed, a hike on the island led by a park ranger, and free giveaways.

Tierra y Arboles: El futuro es nuestro is an environmental education workshop developed by New Earth Regeneration Initiative (NERI) that explores the essential relationship between healthy soils, trees, and resilient communities. 

Participants will learn the fundamentals of soil health, the role of organic matter and soil organisms in creating living soils, and how healthy soils support stronger trees, conserve water, store carbon, and help address climate change. The workshop also highlights the importance of native trees, urban forests, and community participation in restoring ecosystems and creating healthier neighborhoods. 

Through engaging discussions and hands on activities participants will discover how small actions such as properly managing organic waste, improving soil quality, and planting trees can contribute to a more sustainable future. 

The Resource Conservation District of the Santa Monica Mountains needs your help to care for the fire impacted oak trees of Trippet Ranch in Topanga State Park.

During this event volunteers will help the RCDSMM care for our local oak woodland by watering, weeding, and mulching oak trees as well as potentially planting new acorns to replace those trees that may have died. Volunteers will also collect meaningful data to aid in an ongoing reforestation project the RCDSMM has been conducting since 2018. Please wear clothes you are willing to get dirty as well as durable shoes. Be sure to bring a sun hat, layers and drinking water.

We will be meeting in the parking lot of Trippet Ranch located in Topanga State Park. Carpooling to this event is encouraged as parking is limited!

Be aware during this event we will be asking volunteers to hike roughly 0.5-2 miles to access planting sites and the terrain is uneven and may require off-trail trekking.

We look forward to your help in our efforts to reforest and heal the wildlands of the Santa Monica Mountains in the wake of destruction from the Palisades Fire.
