Join Latino Outdoors and Defenders of Wildlife for a look past Proposition 114: Wolf Restoration in Colorado, and the progress that has been made since. John Murtaugh, Rocky Mountains and Great Plains Representative with Defenders of Wildlife, will take this time to go over the new wolf pack in Colorado, what Colorado Parks and Wildlife has been up to, and any questions you may have regarding what is the plan for the outdoor recreation industry, ranchers, conservation and Colorado’s public lands!

Latino Outdoors NYC | Outdoor Yoga & Paletas
Certified yoga instructor and Latino Outdoors NYC member Caroline Vargas will be leading a 60 minute, beginner-friendly Vinyasa yoga class in Central Park North . Guided Hike with Latino Outdoors Western Massachusetts & Mount Grace Land Conservation Trust - Ludlow, MA
When: July 17, 2021 10 AM - 1 PM
Where: Facing Rock Wildlife Management Area 60 Bridle Rd in Ludlow, MA
Join Latino Outdoors Western Mass and Mount Grace Land Conservation Trust in celebrating Latino Conservation Week 2021 with a kick off event at Facing Rock Wildlife Management Area in Ludlow, MA!
We will be offering guided hikes along 2 different areas of the park - one moderate loop through the woods (about 1.5 miles) and one more advanced hike to a scenic summit view (about 4 miles). Guided hikes of the woods loop will be offered at 10 am and 11 am. The guided hike to the scenic summit will start at 11 am. We welcome you to join us!
If you aren’t able to join us for a hike, Latino Outdoors and Mount Grace will also be set up at the entrance of the conservation area to offer information on the park, local conservation, and some fun activities to get to know our local natural space. Snacks, extra water and fun activities (including an optional treasure hunt!) will be provided to everyone!
If you plan to join us for a hike, we ask you to bring some water with you and be sure to wear some good and comfortable shoes to hike in - the trail is a bit rocky in some places. Please be sure to also dress for the weather - we expect it to be hot! Loose fitting clothes like shorts and t-shirts can make a big difference.
A note about COVID safety: We take safety at our community outings very seriously.
- If you have not been vaccinated, please plan to wear a mask during your time with us at the event.
- If you are not feeling well or someone living with you has tested positive for COVID, please stay home.
- Anyone exhibiting symptoms of COVID will be asked to go home and rest.
- All participants will be required to complete a waiver to participate in one of our guided hikes - this information will allow us the ability to contact you in the event we learn that you might have been exposed to COVID during this outing.
- We trust everyone to self-certify that they do not have symptoms of COVID, have not been diagnosed with or had direct contact with a known or suspected COVID-19 case in the past 14 days, and that they will participate fully with these safety policies and procedures.
Together, we can ensure safe, positive, and meaningful experiences in nature.

Sequoia and Kings Canyon Meadow Restoration
Come celebrate Latino Conservation Week on Saturday July 24th from 9am-1pm! Help to restore an important meadow within the Giant Forest by removing orchard grass, an invasive plant. All ages are welcome.

Connect with nature by practicing yoga and meditating in the park. Join us on the Commandant's lawn in the Charlestown Navy Yard for a relaxing class while listening to the sounds of birds, insects and leaves blowing in the wind. Discover how meditative time outdoors leads to beautiful states of relaxation while cultivating a passion for caring nature and conserving our public lands and spaces.
Please bring water and dress comfortably in loose or stretchy clothing. We have a limited number of yoga mats to loan out to participants who need one. Therefore, to ensure that you have a mat, please bring one with you to the event.

Hecho de Agua: Film Premiere and Dinner with the Director
Join HAF's Ocean Advisory Council for a watch party and film premiere of HAF's newest film Hecho de Agua, followed by a virtual dinner and discussion with the director and production team. Hecho de Agua is a preview of HAF's upcoming film, El Canto del Mar, premiering during Hispanic Heritage Month 2021.

Celebrate with us the reopening of the Rock Creek Nature Center. Let’s enjoy some family-friendly time outdoors under lovely shade trees with fun activities to learn about our beloved forest and some of the living creatures in our park, including animals!
