Wildlife Encuentro with Saving Slowpoke
Join Whitewater Preserve and Saving Slowpoke for a chance to participate in some wildlife encounters and learn more about how we can further work together towards the conservation and protection of desert wildlife and wildlands for generations to come! The desert wildlife have amazing adaptations to survive this harsh environment, with the iconic desert tortoise demonstrating their incredible resilience. Though they are well suited for their natural habitats, they face many challenges created by human-impact. Thanks to grassroots campaigns like Saving Slowpoke, the future of these fantastic animals is hopeful! Saving Slowpoke’s mission is to “educate the public on Mojave Desert Tortoise conservation and the importance of desert habitat with a focus on underrepresented communities in the high desert.”
