Join us on September 21, 2024, for a special evening under the stars at the proposed Chuckwalla National Monument as part of Latino Conservation Week. This unique event will feature a thrilling scorpion hunting adventure and a guided stargazing session in the breathtaking desert landscape.

The evening will begin with a delicious dinner provided for all participants, offering a chance to connect with fellow nature enthusiasts. Afterward, we'll embark on an exciting nighttime exploration, where you'll have the opportunity to learn about the fascinating world of scorpions and observe these incredible creatures in their natural habitat.

As the night deepens, we'll turn our gaze to the skies for a stargazing experience like no other. We will talk about the constellations, planets, and the rich cultural significance of the night sky in this serene, remote setting.

Whether you're a seasoned outdoor adventurer or new to exploring the wonders of the desert, this event promises an unforgettable experience that celebrates the beauty of nature and the importance of conservation. All ages are welcome, and no prior experience is necessary.

The 2024 Philly Fall Nature Festival at John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge promises a day filled with outdoor excitement and exploration. Join us on September 14, 10 am - 3 pm for free all-day activities! The festival is set to be the refuge's highlight of the year with a variety of activities to enjoy, including archery sessions, guided nature walks, live music performances, crafts, and refreshments. Want to see the refuge trails with a Ranger? Hop on a trolly tour! Put your angler skills to the test and join in on fishing at Darby Creek! The “Nature in Focus Contest” award ceremony, hosted by Friends of Heinz Refuge will be celebrating outstanding wildlife photography, and all are invited to participate. Visitors can also meet live animal ambassadors brought by Philadelphia Metro Wildlife Center and Elmwood Park Zoo. Don’t forget to stop by one of our partner tables to learn about local organizations and resources within Philadelphia & Pennsylvania. We can’t wait to see you there!

If we follow the clues, we are sure to find him and bring him back safely. Please help! Participate in a fun scavenger hunt on the grounds of Brookside Nature Center. Esta Semana de Conservación Latina, trae a toda la familia a HawkWatch International para Historias con Halcones. ¡Leeremos juntos un libro divertido sobre aves y conoceremos una de nuestras aves rapaces en vivo como la de la historia! Después de la hora del cuento, puedes tomarte fotos con nuestras aves, jugar algunos juegos divertidos, y conocer a otros amantes de la naturaleza de habla hispana. Esperamos que nos acompañen y traigan a sus amigos.

This Latino Conservation Week, bring the whole family to HawkWatch International for Reading with Raptors. We will read a fun book about birds together and meet a live raptor ambassador just like the one in the story! After storytime, you can take photos with the bird, play some fun games, and meet other Spanish-speaking nature lovers. We hope you’ll join us and bring your friends.
