Nature Walk

It's summer! And that means it is time for summer nature hikes! Join our tour guide on a soothing nature walk around the Swallow Hallow Trail at Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge. We will point out and learn about different flora and fauna. This event is for all ages, and anyone is free to join.

These are donation-based classes with compensation to the certified instructor and 10% back to Connecticut Audubon. The Connecticut Audubon Society manages 20 wildlife sanctuaries encompassing almost 3,300 acres of open space in Connecticut, and educates over 100,000 children and adults annually. Los Chupacabras y Los Tres Cabritos Puppet Show

The Chupacabras and Los Tres Cabritos is a puppet show with a story about overcoming bullying and relying on our abilities to get out of difficult situations. Three brothers that love song, dance and art are bored with their lives until they hear about a fantastic party that is being held in Mexico. The brothers are ready to leave for Mexico, despite their mother's warning to change their minds with tales of the fearsome and hungry Chupacabras, who live under the bridge they will encounter over the Rio Grande.

El Vuelo de las Mariposas - The Flight of the Butterflies - Film Screening

"The Flight of the Butterflies" describes the incredible journey of thousands of Monarch Butterflies that travel annually from Mexico to Canada. This special screening will be part of "Latino Conservation Week." The documentary is 45-minutes long; there will be a brief introduction and opportunity for discussion afterwards. The documentary will be presented in Spanish with English subtitles.Refreshments will be provided and there is no charge for this even. Please invite your family, friends and neighbors!The most incredible migration on Earth, is that of the Monarch Butterfly. “Flight of the Butterflies” is a story that spans not only thousands of miles, but generations. The documentary follows the life and travels of “Dana,” for over 1,500 miles from Mexico to Canada, along with her daughter, granddaughter and great granddaughter. Latino Conservation Week Celebration with NPCA and Latino Outdoors

Join the National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA) and Latino Outdoors (LO) as we celebrate the end of Latino Conservation Week with a special community pot-luck! Families and friends are invited to participate and create works of conservation-themed art while enjoying some comida and company during a beautiful summer evening overlooking the Downtown Los Angeles skyline.NPCA and Latino Outdoors will be providing art supplies and invite everyone to enjoy creating their own artwork to take home including: drawing, crafts, and printmaking.
