The Natural History Museum of LA County’s Mobile Museum: An Ocean Experience is visiting Parks After Dark! Aboard the Mobile Museum, participants experience a simulation of a human operated submersible within the San Pedro Channel! Come to your neighborhood park and take a deep dive with bilingual Museum Educators to learn about the biodiversity of our Southern California coast. We will also have Museum Educators and Museum Scientists there to show off museum specimens and talk about urban wildlife and how you can get involved in local research.

Picnic at Spring Mountain Ranch State Park
Join Chispa NV and the Nevada Conservation League for a day of food and fun at Spring Mountain Ranch State Park! We will have fun activities and presentations around the work Chispa and the Nevada Conservation League are doing to protect the air we breathe, the water we drink, and our public lands.
We are kicking off Latino Conservation Week with a picnic. Food and drinks will be provided by Chispa/NCL. The event is open to people of all ages and your furry friends are welcome too!
Items to bring:
Blanket, comfortable shoes, sunscreen and a friend!
We will be meeting at the Chispa/NCL office at 10:00 am for folks who need to carpool.

Connecting Latino Youth to Nature
During Latino Conservation Week there will be two camps coming to the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge to experience the environment in a whole new way. Latino youth will get to talk about nature and how it surrounds us by doing fun activities such as canoeing, hiking, and fishing!
Wild Rivers Art Paint Out
Come participate or watch/experience plain air painting at the 3rd annual Wild Rivers Plein Air Paint Out. The paint-out, July 17-20 is open to all artistic levels, ages and art mediums. It will be held at beautiful Wild Rivers Recreational Area and the surrounding Questa area including Red River, San Cristobal, Rio Costilla and Amalia. During this time Peruvian-American artist Sonia Diaz will be sharing her connection to rivers as a Latina activist and leading a discussion on the history of the Rio Grande.
Forest Bound! - Summer Native Plant Immersion!
Join us for this FREE training for Latino Conservation Week where students are trained in native seed collection and cleaning, proper collection of plant specimens, vegetation monitoring, and data collection. They learn to build their own plant press, use botanical terms to describe and identify plants, cook with plants and make herbal recipes, and much more! Guest speakers from natural resource fields are sprinkled throughout the sessions, providing expert knowledge and a glimpse of careers in conservation as well as opportunities to get involved in conservation work.
Rio Grande Citizen Science Volunteer Day
Summer volunteers will join together to help monitor water quality along the Wild & Scenic Rio Grande! Lunch will be provided
