Sabor del Rancho is an elegant evening at Mound House celebrating the vibrant flavors, rhythms, and stories of the rancho era. Enjoy a Latin American dinner, a 30-minute dance lesson, and a guided historical tour exploring the intertwined Indigenous and Latinx heritage of our coastal site. Rise with the Sun! Latino Conservation Week Gathering at Ironwood Forest National Monument
Join us for a sunrise nature walk at Ironwood Forest National Monument to ground ourselves in the Sonoran Desert and to learn about the importance of protecting our public lands! The Ironwood Forest is home to several endangered species and archaeological sites, but it is currently under threat with the Trump administration. Despite its ecological and cultural significance, the National Monument has been named 1 of 6 monuments facing a reduction in size to open up the land for mining. Join us to learn more about how we can fight for our public lands, they are NOT for sale!

Carpooling: We will carpool from the Historic Y (300 E University Blvd, Tucson AZ, 85705) at 5am
Nature Walk Location: Waterman Restoration Site (group arrives at 6am)
What To Bring: a water bottle, a cap, shoes for a nature walk (a light breakfast and snacks will be provided)

¡Acompañanos en una caminata en la naturaleza al amanecer en el Monumento Nacional Ironwood Forest para conectarnos con el desierto de Sonora y aprender sobre la importancia de proteger nuestras tierras públicas! El Bosque Ironwood es el hogar de varias especies en peligro de extinción y sitios arqueológicos, pero ahora está en peligro por la administración de Trump. Aunque es ecológico y culturalmente importante, el Monumento Nacional ha sido mencionado como uno de los seis monumentos que podrían reducirse para abrir el área a la minería. Ven con nosotros para aprender más sobre cómo podemos luchar por nuestras tierras pública. ¡La tierra no se vende, se defiende! ?

We'll watch the movie Río (in Spanish) and discover the amazing birds and habitats right here in Nampa at Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge. Enjoy a bird scavenger hunt, hands-on activities, and make your own pledge to protect nature. Perfect for kids & families! This is a collaborative effort with Huellas del Tiempo event hosted by the Idaho Hispanic Foundation.

Kids, Popsicles, and Ball Games/ Peques, Paletas y Pelotas
Join Peques Nature Club for an outdoor family-friendly adventure. What can you expect? Peques, paletas, and pelotas! We need peques (kids) of all ages to come out and play games with all sorts of pelotas (balls) on an open field. Bring your own pelotas-we’ll have a couple to share as well. We’ll enjoy paletas (Mexican popsicles) to cool down. Dairy-free options available. We’ll end the event with a soccer scrimmage with Pace for Peace college students, and a ball giveaway!

En honor a la Semana de la Conservación Latina, los Departamentos de Parques y Recreación y Obras Públicas de la ciudad de Boise se complacen en organizar una visita guiada bilingüe para toda la familia por la nueva sala de exposiciones del Centro Climático y del Agua The WaterShed a las 11 de la mañana. Habrá aperitivos, stands de socios locales y una proclamación leída por el concejal Jordan Morales a las 10:30 a. m. ¡Únase a nosotros para dar inicio a una semana llena de emocionantes oportunidades y celebraciones!
Patricia Patron
Patricia is a Senior Executive committed to advancing social justice and driving transformational change to improve the health, social well-being, and economic prosperity of vulnerable communities. With a career spanning over 18 years in executive leadership, Patricia has focused on creating trauma-informed, healing-centered, and accessible programs that are affirming and inclusive of intersectional and diverse populations. Her work is deeply rooted in racial equity and a strong understanding of the systemic barriers that prevent individuals and families from achieving well-being.
Throughout her career, Patricia has worked across sectors, including healthcare, behavioral health, community-based organizations, and human services. Prior to joining Hispanic Access, she served as Executive Director at Family HealthCare in Fargo, ND, and Outside In in Portland, OR. She has also held leadership roles such as VP of Programs at Comunidades Latinas Unidas en Servicio (CLUES) in St. Paul, MN; Deputy Director at Familias en Acción in Portland, OR; and COO at Native Health in Phoenix, AZ.
Patricia has been recognized with multiple prestigious awards, including the YWCA’s “2010 Woman of the Year in Advocating for Equality,” the “Latino Leadership Award for Woman of the Year” from Mujeres Unidas/Women United for outstanding community leadership, and the “Star Award” from the Dakota Medical Foundation for positively impacting the health of people in North Dakota.
Originally from Colombia, Patricia now lives in Chaska, Minnesota. She is a proud mother of two young adults, a pet parent to three senior dogs, and enjoys long morning walks, biking, yoga, and experimenting with new recipes alongside her husband.
Priscila Rodriguez
Prior to joining Hispanic Access, Priscila worked as an Engagement Manager for a local non-profit that aimed to empower low-income communities. Her role involved leading graphic design projects and promoting the importance of financial capability, particularly within the BIPOC community.
Her passion for art and design, combined with her background in communication, has equipped me with a range of skills including website management, social media, press releases, graphic design, marketing, and more. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to further develop her skills and contribute to this incredible team!
Arturo Angeles
As the Program Communications Manager, Arturo provides Spanish-bilingual communications media and media outreach to increase the visibility and impact of Hispanic Access’ conservation program.
Prior to joining Hispanic Access, Arturo was a communications lead at an international environmental conservation organization and a consultant at a U.S.-Mexico binational environmental conservation organization. He is the person who led the movement and multi-year campaign to educate the public and legislate the prohibition of plastic bags south of the border, in Tijuana, Mexico.
Arturo has a B.A. in Biology from San Diego State University and an M.S. in Resilient and Sustainable Communities from Prescott College.
