River Detectives

Walk down to the Boise River with our staff to learn about how aquatic insects tell us a story about water quality.  Free program for Latino Conservation Week open to all ages, with a focus on programming for ages 5-12. All youth will need to be accompanied by an adult. Please reserve tickets for youth and adults in your group.

Boise State Public Radio Nature Walk to the MK Nature Center

Take a nature walk along the Green Belt to the MK Nature Center where you’ll complete a scavenger hunt. Return to the Boise State Public Radio parking lot and enjoy some refreshments!

Peques Nature Club Family Friendly Hike

We will walk together in community and go at the pace the families want to go, allowing children to play and explore along the way! About 2 mile hike round trip enjoying the beautiful view and route Deer Flat provides.

Bikes on the Greenbelt

Join us for a morning ride to get outside, enjoy the river, & spend time in community. Latinos Explorando is teaming up with Boise Bicycle Project for an easygoing ride along the Boise Greenbelt. We’ll start at Boise Bicycle Project with a brief talk on bike safety & greenbelt etiquette, learn more about the services BBP offers, & have the opportunity to get free minor bike repairs before we head out! Then we’ll hit the Greenbelt for an easy ride through some of Boise’s beautiful riverfront scenery.

Vitalistic Wellness Community Cleanup Hike at Jump Creek Falls

Exploring the Watershed: Educational navigation to the Headwaters of the Everglades .

This transformative airboat experience seeks to reconnect Hispanic organizations and communities in Central Florida with our precious Everglades ecosystem. It is vital that the Hispanic community understands that the health of local wetlands directly impacts the water supply for more than 8 million people in Florida. The expedition is not just recreational; it includes a guided talk on the impact of urban development on river headwaters and the importance of protecting wetlands from pollution and habitat fragmentation.
