What to bring:

  • The route loaded on your phone or navigation device
  • A working bike (don't forget your ABCs - check your tire air pressure, your brakes, and lube you chain)
  • A helmet
  • Enough nutrition & water for your body and needs
  • Layers (and somewhere to put them), depending on weather
  • Sunscreen - It's Colorado, enough said!
  • A good attitude
  • Extra tube (even if you're tubeless)

What should you know? These rides are:

  • No drop, which means you will NOT get left behind. We ride as a group with meet up points and stop for flat tires / mechanicals. Also, while this is no-drop, we do have a general pace expectation (see below), so please ride within your means. Additionally, please have a back-up plan and/or someone to contact if you have a bike failure that can't be repaired, take a fall and can't complete the ride, or don't want to complete the route for any other reason. We want you to feel as taken care of as possible AND you should always be prepared to support your needs.
  • Multi-surface, which means they are generally a mixture of bike path, pavement, gravel, and occasionally some dirt/single track. Most bikes can handle most surfaces, especially on the shorter routes, though you will likely be most comfortable on a bicycle with 32mm tires or greater (usually anything other than road bike tires). HOWEVER, come with what you have and experience it for yourself - we'd love to have you even if you choose to turn around at any point. Also, we go over group ride etiquette and route info in the pre-ride talk, but please be familiar with general rules of the road.
  • Average a 10-12 mph pace, usually 10mph at the back, 12mph at the front. An additional faster pace group may form on the longer ride for those interested and depending who shows up. Again, that is moving time. We stop. We have snacks. We take picture. We fix flat tires. Because our rides are only monthly, we love to spend time with each other! We ride with the general mantra of come for the bikes, stay for the community: We might get a good workout in, or we might be soft pedaling and making new friends, above all we’re here for joy!
