Pollinator Garden Installation at El Rio Preserve

Event Description:

Join Tucson Audubon and the Town of Marana as we jointly install a large pollinator garden among the landscape plantings near the ramada at the new parking lot for the El Rio Preserve. The heavy lifting has already been done; this work day will be focused entirely on planting. We’ll start off with a quick refresher course on best planting practices for native plants the desert, and then we’ll get to planting.

The pollinator garden will include plants that help sustain hummingbirds, butterflies, native solitary bees, bats, and other pollinators. Of course, there will also be lots of milkweeds included to specifically support Monarch Butterflies.
