Virtual Cafecito Lecture with Ana María Rodríguez

Event Description:

Join us to learn about TERRITORY –  a journey of identity, a project aimed at capturing the essence of Miami’s rich and diverse history through the lens of visual storytelling. This project explores historic locations and how they represent the unique spirit of the community. The concept of “territory” in the social sciences is fundamental for understanding the spatial organization of human societies and the dynamics of power, identity, and belonging. At the core of TERRITORY is Miami’s unique identity. As the city continues to evolve, exploring what truly characterizes it becomes essential. Historically a major destination for tourists, the experience of living in Miami has evolved over time. The illustrated pieces in this project serve as a catalyst for meaningful discussions about our community and its essence.
