Event Description:

The Wildlife Society’s Latin American and Caribbean Working Group (LACWG) is partnering with Latino Outdoors to celebrate Latino Conservation Week and Hispanic Heritage Month through an iNaturalist BioBlitz. The top participant will win a pair of Vortex Diamondback HD 10x50 Binoculars (valued at $360) courtesy of The Wildlife Society (TWS). Additionally, the top five participants will receive a 50% discount code for a Wildlife Society membership, which includes free LACWG membership along with the standard TWS member benefits.

 

The bioblitz will run from Sep 12, 2025 at 12:00 PM EST to Oct 10, 2025 at 12:00 AM EST. Winners will be contacted directly through iNaturalist via the website or the Android app (accessible through the side menu). Please note that messaging is not supported in the iNaturalist iOS/iPadOS app. Participants are encouraged but not required to follow LACWG on Instagram (LACWG_TWS) for backup messaging, event updates, and highlights of other Hispanic Heritage Month initiatives. Winners will be highlighted on Instagram following the event. The competition is open to all participants; however, prizes are available only to those residing in the United States. No purchase necessary to enter or win. This contest is void where prohibited by law.

El Grupo de Trabajo de América Latina y el Caribe de The Wildlife Society (LACWG) se ha asociado con Latino Outdoors para celebrar la Semana de Conservación Latina y el Mes de la Herencia Hispana a través de un BioBlitz en iNaturalist. El participante con mayor número de observaciones ganará un par de binoculares Vortex Diamondback HD 10x50 (con un valor de $360), cortesía de The Wildlife Society (TWS). Además, los cinco participantes principales recibirán un código de descuento del 50% para una membresía de The Wildlife Society, la cual incluye la membresía gratuita de LACWG junto con los beneficios estándar para miembros de TWS.

El BioBlitz se llevará a cabo del 12 de septiembre de 2025 a las 12:00 p.m. EST hasta el 10 de octubre de 2025 a las 12:00 a.m. EST.
