Starting Seeds: Native Milkweed

As part of Latino Conservation Week 2025, in collaboration with Hispanic Access, we invite you to a hands-on workshop at Lopez Urban Farm’s Urban Butterfly Garden! Led by butterfly expert Alicia Valle, who tends and stewards this vibrant pollinator habitat, you’ll learn the vital role of native milkweed in supporting monarch butterflies. Participants will help assemble milkweed seedling pots to take home and care for.

 


Explore the garden as you view live monarch butterflies and caterpillars up close, and discover how your small actions can make a big impact for pollinators. This free event takes place on September 21, 2025, from 11 AM to 1 PM, at Lopez Urban Farm (1034 W Mission Blvd., Pomona, CA 91766).
