Rio Salado Walk! Wildfire in the desert & sembrando el futuro

Event Description:

Join us for a Sunday morning walk to learn about wildfire in the desert and sembrando el futuro (planting the future)!
We'll visit the Rio Salado habitat restoration area in Phoenix to learn about native plants and efforts to restore the area. We'll also learn  about wildfires and invasive plant species.

Cafe con pan (mexican coffee and bread) will be provided. Participants will also receive a packet of free native flower seeds!

Please RSVP to let us know you're coming: https://act.sierraclub.org/events/details?formcampaignid=701Po00000LiDdNIAV&mapLinkHref=https://maps.google.com/maps&daddr=Walk%20Tour:%20Wildfire%20in%20the%20desert%20and%20sembrando%20el%20futuro%20%E2%80%A2%20LCW@33.67022,-111.489336

Please note- There are two parts to this outing which will require driving to two different locations. They are 16.8 miles apart. Addresses and instructions will be given after registration.

Just a heads up! There have been rattlesnake sightings in the area. We will do a safety briefing and stay alert throughout the walk.

Things to bring: Water bottle, hat, sunscreen, and thick sole boots. We recommend avoiding tennis shoes and sandals due to cactus needles in the replanting area, especially at the nursery. Don't worry if you don't have the right footwear—just let us know, and we'll make sure you're all set for your visit.
