Lotería Nite

Event Description:

Come out to Satwiwa to celebrate latino cultura!

Saturday July22nd from 7pm -930pm at the Satwiwa Native American Cultural Center.

Play Lotería familia style for a chance to win fun prizes!

The cactus corner will be speaking about youth led cactus scrub restoration, giving out Prickly Pear Agua Fresca and bilingual ethnobotany guides. See how you can get involved with youth programs such as SAMO YOUTH and OYE- Oxnard Young Ecologist!

The bat booth is where folks can play echo-loco, use an iPad and a sonar kit to locate bats near the pond, and pick up bilingual bat guides to feed the fascination.

Create seed pinatas and learn about milkweed the host plant for Monarcas, the Monarch Butterfly.

The walk in the dark will start as a sunset hike and move into a sensory experience as the evening progresses. We will highlight changes in animal behaviors, sights, and smells as we walk along.

The scorpion hike will highlight scorpions and their habitat. These creatures have fluorescence that makes them glow when under UV lights, come see it to believe it!
