A Conversation with Latina Environmental Justice Champions

Event Description:

LatinasRepresent, an initiative of the National Hispanic Leadership Agenda (NHLA), is proud to partner with GreenLatinos to host "A Conversation with Latina Environmental Justice Champions" during Latino Conservation Week 2021 to celebrate Latina leadership and inspire more Latinas to pursue careers at the intersection of public policy and environmental justice.

Latinas have historically been underrepresented in the conservation field. Yet, despite a myriad of challenges Latinas have done and continue to do incredible work to create healthier and safer communities for us all.

During this conversation, we will learn how Latina environmental justice advocates got their start in the field, why this work is important to them, and what you can do to make a difference in your communities.

Speakers include:
Irma Muñoz, Mujeres de la Tierra
Jessica Loya, Next 100 Coalition
Raquel Gomez, Atabey Outdoors
Mariana Del Valle Prieto Cervantes, GreenLatinos
