Latino Conservation Week Celebration - Hot Springs National Park
Join us in celebrating Latino Conservation Week here at Hot Springs National Park. We will be hosting an educational fair on Arlington Lawn Saturday July 22nd at 10AM. Come explore and enjoy the park and learn how you can help us protect our resources. All ages welcome to attend and programs will be available in Spanish.

See a spectacular display of lotus and water lilies in full bloom! Enjoy gardening workshops & traditional Latin, Asian & African dancing performances! Hands-on activities including face painting, lotus tea tasting, and painting demonstrations! Visit educational and cultural exhibitors and much more!
Latino Conservation Week Tabling Event at Arizona Get Outdoors Expo in Scottsdale, AZ
The Arizona Get Outdoors Expo in association with Arizona Game & Fish promises fun and adventure for the whole family.
The Arizona Get Outdoors Expo aims to get people outdoors, appreciate their environment, and be respectful during outdoor adventures and offers exhibitors and vendors from across the outdoor industry. There will be hands on activities such as learning about wildlife, Leave No Trace and taking care of the environment, archery, rock climbing, paddle board yoga, educational seminars and demos and camp/hike/running classes. Some exhibitors that will be present included but are not limited to the National Park Service, REI Co-Op, Bass Pro Shops, Arizona State Parks, Arizona Trail, and Sportsman's Warehouse.

Latino Heritage Internship Program and Environment for the Americas will have a current intern from Casa Grande National Monument, AZ tabling at a 10 x 20 ft booth in partnership with the National Park Service set up with activities for the public including cultural activities such as pitch pots, finger weaving, pump drills, and split twig pipe cleaners as well as nature based activities such as examination of scats, tracks, and skulls. These activities will be set up and supported by the National Park Service with cultural recourse items from Casa Grande National Monument, Tonto National Monument, Montezuma Castle National Monument, Tuzigoot National Monument.

Whale Watch & Marine Education Series
In partnership with Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary, Hispanic Access is organizing an educational series that will culminate in a whale watch for over 100 students from Lawrence public schools. Participants will learn about humpback whales and marine life, environmental career opportunities, and the protection of marine resources. As students learn about whale migration and marine sanctuaries, they will discuss the environmental, cultural and social connections between the Eastern US and the Caribbean.
HI- DESERT STAR: New desert monuments offer chances to explore family roots
This Saturday marked the start of Latino Conservation Week, a week dedicated to building awareness among Latino communities of the beautiful public lands and outdoor experiences available to them, and the importance of conservation. It is also about reaffirming their connection to nature and the land.
Exploring Sequoia National Park
20 young adults from Los Angeles will visit park in coordination with Hispanic Access Foundation's Latino Heritage Internship Program student, possible camping and volunteer experience, in addition to educational visit.
