
Beginners Camping Workshop
California Citrus State Historic Park alongside Latino Outdoors - Inland Empire are hosting a beginners camping workshop for families. There will be two sessions in which participants will learn the basics they will need to know when planning their first camping trip. There will be a hands on camping demonstration as well as a leave no trace informational session.

Español: ¡Las mariposas monarca necesitan nuestra ayuda! Haremos proyecciones de Vuelo de la Mariposas, un documental de 45 minutos centrado en la mariposa monarca, en el Auditorio del Centro de Visitantes. Las funciones comenzarán a las 10:00 am, 10:45 am, 12:00 pm, 12:45 pm, 1:30 pm, 2:15 pm, and 3:00 pm. Tendremos materiales para el origami en forma de monarca que puedes llevar a casa o dejar para decorar el Centro de Visitantes. English: Monarch butterflies need our help! We will do screenings of Flight of the Butterflies, a 45 min monarch butterfly-focused documentary, at the Visitor Center's Auditorium. Showings will start at 10:00 am, 10:45 am, 12:00 pm, 12:45 pm, 1:30 pm, 2:15 pm, and 3:00 pm. We will have materials for monarch-shaped origami that you can take home or leave behind to decorate the Visitor Center. Visitors will also help us sort milkweed pods into seeds that then will be planted at the Refuge to help monarchs on their journeys from Mexico to Canada.

<p>Native Milkweed Giveaway! held at Willow Springs Park 2745 Orange Ave, Long Beach, CA 90806 on July 15th 9am-12pm. Three mini-classes will be held at 9am, 10am, and 11am. You do not have to stay for the mini-class to pick up milkweed, but only those who have registered are guaranteed milkweed plants. Each family / person will receive a minimum of 5 plants. In recognition of Latino Conservation Week, the Connecticut Science Center and UConn Extension Urban and Community Forestry Program have joined forces to provide a unique learning opportunity for teens and their families to discover potential job paths related to conservation and environmental science. Este evento es un recorrido en kayak de 4 horas que explora nuestro hermoso río Willamette aquí en Salem y Keizer. Vamos parar en McLain Island para almorzar y luego practicamos un ejercicio de bienestar para nuestra propia salud mental antes de regresar al río. La naturaleza puede proporcionar curación que todos podemos disfrutar si hacemos nuestra parte para conservarla.
Todos los costos de equipo, permisos y cuidado de niños están cubiertos para eliminar las barreras a la participación.

Recovery from mental health and addiction problems is different for everyone. That's why we host different events throughout the year to help people discover what recovery looks like for them.
This event is a 4-hour kayak tour that explores our beautiful Willamette River here in Salem and Keizer. We'll stop at McLain Island for lunch and then practice a wellness exercise for our own mental health before heading back to the river. Nature can provide healing that we can all enjoy if we do our part to conserve it.
All equipment, permits and childcare costs are covered to remove barriers to participation.
