This event is open to families that would like to learn and explore Great Swamp NWR. Activities will include an archery range, a guided/interpretive walk, and a behind-the-scenes tour of management areas. Participants should be registered before the event.

SNAP - Students, Nature and Photography!

Registered students from the local Boys & Girls Club will participate in a photography scavenger hunt at Genesee Valley Park organized by Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge and partners. Students will explore the park and look for specific items on the scavenger list, take a picture, and write something about it.

Only students that are registered may participate in this event.

Big Morongo Canyon Preserve Native Plant Walk

Participants in this event will be treated to a guided, bi-lingual experience in the beautiful Big Morongo Canyon Preserve, located in Southern California's Sand to Snow National Monument. Guides will focus on native plants found in the preserve - their habits, historical uses, and practical applications. An interactive activity will take place at the on-site Visitor's Center, allowing for additional learning. Be sure to wear layers, a hat, and sunscreen, and bring plenty of water and healthy snacks. The preserve has a lovely picnic area, so feel free to also bring a brown bag lunch if you'd like to continue to enjoy the beauty of the area after the event's conclusion.

Astronomy Day

10:00 AM Planetarium Movie: Zula Patrol Down to Earth Hey Kids! Join us for Zula Patrol as they chase Madam Deliria back through geologic times in an attempt to rid the universe of litter. Animated film. Ages 4 and up.
10:00 AM to 4:00 PM: NASA's Destination Station traveling exhibit- This exhibit which is located inside of a 40' truck/ trailer, promotes research opportunities and educates the public about activities and life on-board the international space station. All ages.
10:00 AM to 12:30 PM Astronomy Crafts- It was 48 years ago this month that Apollo 11 landed on the moon. Join us for astronomy crafts as we honor the accomplishment. All ages.
1:00 PM and 4:00 PM Ranger led planetarium programs. All ages.
