? Join us for a day of outdoor adventure, conservation, and climbing access trails! ??♀️
Latino Outdoors Colorado, Escaladores Unidos, Boulder Climbing Community, and prAna are coming together for an exciting event where we'll not only care for the trails but also focus on natural structures that enhance climbing access.
When: Saturday, July 15th
Where: prAna Boulder Store (1147 Pearl St, Boulder, CO 80302)
What: Morning - Enjoy a warm cup of coffee provided by prAna. We'll also have delicious Pan Dulce from to kick-start your morning and coordinate our drives to the trail!
Afternoon - We'll head to the stunning Saddle Rock trail behind the first flatiron in Boulder. Join us as we build stone stairs, retaining structures, and staging areas that not only serve climbers but also mitigate our impacts on the environment. Lunch will be provided by the City of Boulder and Boulder Climbing Community. Afterwards, we will return to the prAna store for a well-deserved celebration and a raffle with exciting prizes!
Why: Disfrutando y Conservando Nuestra Tierra, the heart of Latino Conservation Week, is an initiative by the Hispanic Access Foundation, celebrated every 3rd week of July for the past 10 years. This special week aims to support the Latino community in connecting with nature and taking action to protect our precious natural resources. All organizations participating in this event have a philosophy that aligns perfectly with that mission, as we work together to provide sustainable solutions and ensure the right to access our climbing resources.

Nature Walk at The Rio Salado Habitat Restoration Area
We'll be walking through the Rio Salado Habitat Restoration Area and talk about the importance of this local watershed to the Phoenix community and the wildlife in the area. We will walk for about an hour.
Please bring a refillable water bottle and sun protection.

La Bahia de Aguadilla, una mirada bajo del agua.
El evento consiste de llevar 8 voluntarios hispanos a conocer la Bahia de Aguadilla haciendo Snorkeling y navegando en una Yola (bote) tradicional de los pescadores del Pueblo de Aguadilla. Estaremos introduciéndolos en la pesca responsable, hablándoles de la importancia de la preservación de la bahía y de sus caracteristicas naturales. Se inicia el evento con la instalación de un rotulo interpretativo de la bahía de Aguadilla.

Join us to celebrate Latino Conservation Week and take care of the newly planted shade trees in Rialto! Caring for trees increases their likelihood of survival and overall health. Healthy trees increase shade, bolster air quality, clean our water and support our mental and physical health. All ages welcome; just bring a hat, plenty of water, and your energy!

Science at the Sea
Science at the Sea is a hands-on marine science program intended to provide accessible science experiences for kids from historically excluded groups in STEM: including gender minorities, racial/ethnic minorities, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and people from low income or underserved communities. This will be a program offered in English and Spanish. Participants will learn about their local watershed and the animals that call our coastlines home.

Todos son bienvenidos a La Iglesia de Dios Vida Nueva para celebrar la clausura de la Escuela Bíblica de Vacaciones 2023. Vamos a tener juegos, comida y premios para todas las familias. Si llueve tendremos el evento adentro del edificio. El evento es el miércoles, 21 de junio, 2023 de 5:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Maine Outdoor Film Festival - Havana Libre Screening
Our Surfrider Maine Chapter is teaming up with the filmmakers of Havana Libre and the Maine Outdoor Film Festival to host an in-person showing of Havana Libre, a powerful film documenting the struggle of surfing in Cuba, on July 27! This event will also include a Q&A with the film team after the screening. Drinks and food trucks will be on the seen as well.
Kayak Day at Kings Beach State Recreation Area / Día de kayak en Kings Beach State Recreation Area
Kayak day at Kings Beach State Recreation Area is dedicated as a day to provide access, practice stewardship, and to grow connection for the Latine community at Lake Tahoe. We will offer short, bilingual, guided interpretive tours throughout the day as well as opportunities for participants to paddle around on their own within a designated area. Kayaks, personal floatation devices (PFD), water and light snacks will be provided. This event is FREE and open to the public. There is a $10 a day parking fee at Kings Beach State Recreation Area. The parking lot fills up early so carpooling is highly recommended!

El día de kayak en Kings Beach State Recreation Area está dedicado como un día para proporcionar acceso, practicar la administración ambiental, y crecer la conexión de la comunidad latine en Lake Tahoe. Ofreceremos recorridos interpretativos cortos, bilingües y guiados durante todo el día y oportunidades para que los participantes usen los kayaks libremente dentro de una zona designada. Kayaks, chaleco de salvavidas, agua y bocadillos ligeros serán proporcionados. Este evento es GRATUITO y abierto al público.
