
Naturalist Walk
Latino Conservation Week is celebrating its 10th Anniversary! LCW was created by Hispanic Access Foundation in 2014 to promote the Latino community enjoying the outdoors and participating in activities to protect our natural resources.
In honor of this week please join us for a naturalist walk at Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge - Concord Unit on Saturday, July 22nd at 8AM. Discover the rich biodiversity of the Concord Unit, with guidance by Park Ranger Wilson Acuna, our knowledgeable and bilingual in Spanish and English guide. Registration required as spots are limited.
FREE and suitable for all ages (children must be accompanied by an adult).

Reimagining Big Basin Hike - Latino Conservation Week
In celebration of Latino Conservation Week and the one-year anniversary of the reopening of Big Basin. Saved By Nature in collaboration with GreenLatinos, CA State Parks, Parks California and Friends of Santa Cruz State Parks will host a hike on July 22nd from 10AM – 2PM! There will be fun for the entire family including an educational guided hike, activities, food, and refreshments! Stop by partner tables for free give-a-ways and to learn more about local fish species, conservation efforts, and The Reimagining of Big Basin Redwoods State Park. The guided redwood hike is also available in Spanish.

Avoid the heat of day and connect with nature at night! Rio Vista Natural Resource Park has the perfect environment that allows for exploring the natural desert ecosystem. Marvel at Palo Verde Beetles, look for Scorpions with Black lights, and enjoy a delicious paleta (popsicle) from Michoacana Paleteria y Nieveria. This is an official Latino Conservation Week event.
Latino Outdoors activities are free and in service to our communities. Our volunteer leaders donate time and energy to plan these experiences, paying close attention to the number of people each event can accommodate. Please honor your reservation, and if you are unable to attend an event that you signed up for, take a moment to cancel your reservation, preferably one week prior to the event, so that another community member may participate and volunteer organizers can plan accordingly. We greatly appreciate it!

We will be having a hike Sunday July 23rd starting at 9am. Followed by a lunch, games and a planting station where we will be planting some seeds so our guests can take them home. We are excited about this event as it allows us to plant the seed of the Gospel as well.

Join us for a fun filled day where you can choose your own adventure by selecting from a variety of outdoor activities. In the morning we will be removing blackberry from a previously replanted area in southern Clark's Meadow. We will work for approximately one hour and then we will embark on an urban forest guided nature walk with Ed Dominguez, Lead Naturalist, at the Seward Park Audubon Society. Join our trek through the fields and forest at Seward Park as we tune in to migrating and resident birds and bring them into view as the opportunity allows. Lead mushroom enthusiast Daniel Lopez will demonstrate how to grow your own mushrooms. Paint a bird house, play some games, and check out our table of community resources. Enjoy free tacos and music with our community!
All are welcome to join us. No experience necessary. FREE lunch and materials will be provided. Spanish translation will be available.
Earn a raffle ticket by registering for the event, signing up for the restoration project with Seward Park Audubon and Green Seattle, play our Bingo game, or attend a Latino Conservation Week activity in Washington. Participants will receive a raffle ticket to earn some prizes!

Peace NJ's Latino Conservation Week Celebration!
PEACE NJ will hold its 3rd annual Latino Conservation Week celebration on July 22, 12-4pm at Alumni Field Park in Hackettstown. Come and enjoy free, fun and educational activities for the whole family, bilingual speakers, and learn about local conservation efforts and the many local, low-cost outdoor recreation activities you can enjoy with your family. Latino Conservation Week is a national effort to provide local conservation information and exchange information about addressing community health through local outdoor recreation. PEACE NJ invites local organizations, businesses and residents to come and discuss local environmental concerns and how we can work together to protect nature and community health. Light refreshments and beverages will be served. If you or your youth group, business, church or organization would like to contribute or volunteer for the event, please contact us at info@peacenj.org.

Guía del Canal C & O en barco
Únase con nosotros para un paseo guiado en bote por el Canal C & O en la cuenca Cushwa en Williamsport, MD para la semana de Latinos que conservan los parques.
Los tours están limitados 10 personas solamente. No se permiten animales, con la excepción de los animales de servicio. Las inclemencias del tiempo pueden hacer que se cancelen los tours.
Durante finales del siglo 19 y principios del siglo 20, los barcos de batería y vapor de 30 pies viajaron por el canal para placer de uno y negocios, contrastando enormemente con los barcos de carga de 90 pies jalado por mulos que antiguamente dominaban el canal.
Boletos son gratis y dado por orden de llegada el mismo día. Boletos se distribuirá al tope de la hora.
