Fall Migration Bird Banding at Cuyahoga Valley National Park

Join us for a free, family-friendly bilingual bird program to celebrate World Migratory Bird Day and Latino Conservation Week. Every fall, millions of birds move through Cuyahoga Valley National Park as they journey down to Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean, and South America to spend the winter. Watch as park biologists band and collect important scientific data on live, migratory birds. You will have a close and personal experience with birds. We will also have cafecito, migration games, and conversations about conservation. The second session may see less birds than the first because birds are more active in the morning.

*All birds are handled and banded by professionals under a federally authorized Bird Banding Permit issued by the U.S. Geological Survey Bird Banding Laboratory. Birds are released unharmed after data is collected.

Environmental Justice Letter Writing Workshop

HEAL Utah remains committed to supporting communities from ongoing environmental threats: especially poor air quality, climate change, and toxic exposures. Aiding vulnerable communities who face environmental injustice and inequality is essential to achieve our mission of a healthier environment for all. To pursue this cause, we have organized a comment writing workshop to support the restoration of federal funding for environmental justice initiatives. Event participants will submit letters to Utah's federal delegation to lobby against the Trump administration's elimination of federal funding.
