Meet a beekeeper! Join us for a brief intro-level conversation with local beekeeper Melinda Jean Stafford. Let's chat about why we need bees, why they need us, and how we can BEE friends. Honey tasting and on-site parking available. Please RSVP ahead of time to get a head count of participants. ADA accessible. Appropriate for all ages as it will be interactive and engaging.
Create Your Own Solar Oven, S'mores, & Backyard Bass Fishing
Create your own solar oven for your next outdoor adventure. You will get to try out your oven and make smores. While smores are baking in your solar oven we will learn about Backyard Bass fishing activity. Youth ages 5+ and their parents/guardians/family members.

Slay Outside Youth Hike & Painting by the Lake
Meet at Upper Dam Boat Ramp (bottom of entrance road). Ages 12-16. The hike should be about an hour, and the painting will be a Social Emotional Learning activity. Bilingual communication is available.
Greenbelt Walk, Plant Collection, & Watercolor Painting
Join us for a walk on the Greenbelt, collect flowers and plants for your own plant press book. We will talk back to the office and use watercolors to paint one of your favorite plants or flowers. Youth ages 5+ and their parents/guardians/family members.

FREE TOUR of West Boise Water Renewal Facility
Join us for a FREE tour of the West Boise Water Renewal Facility. This 60-minute walking tour will give you a behind-the-scenes view of what happens when you wash your hands, shower, and flush! Learn about how the City of Boise is renewing your used water, recovering valuable resources, and ultimately protecting the health of the Boise River.
Closed-toed shoes required, recommended for ages 5 and up, but all families welcomed. Please RSVP so we can give a count to the tour guide. Meet at the WaterShed Education Center.
Peques Nature Club Sharing Appreciation for WATER/EL AGUA!
We will host a familia meet-up for all ages and share our appreciation through journaling, drawing, and/or story-telling what role water has played in their life. We will offer a cuento en espanol for those that wish to listen. Free play in the park is also an option inclusing splash pads, a sand/water area, and a playground. We will finish with a family-style picnic dinner for families that would like to join. We hope you and your familia can join us; open invitation for all!
Suggested list to bring: Swim gear, towel(s), extra clothing, sunscreen, sun hat, picnic for your family and/or snacks, water, blanket if families want to sit on the grass and/or anything else you think your familia will need.

**ROAD CONSTRUCTION NOTICE to park [PLEASE NOTE]**: There is construction on Lake Hazel between Eagle Rd. and Locust Grove. There are signs noting the road is closed; however, in order to enter the park you must enter Lake Hazel at the Locust Grove intersection/roundabout. Please follow the signs that say "Park Access Open." You will be directed to stay on the right lane, and drive a short path of dirt road. The entrance to the park will be where the three colorful pillars are located (right-hand side/south side of Lake Hazel). Please enter through Locust Grove and NOT Eagle Road. Access is not available through Eagle Road.
Latino Conservation Week Kickoff
Join us as we kick-off Latino Conservation Week in the Treasure Valley! Boise Mayor Lauren McLean will be issuing the Latino Conservation Week Proclamation, Ballet Folklorico Mexico Lindo will be performing, and family-friendly activities will be provided! This event is free and open to all ages.

Registration is required. Event is weather-dependent and may be cancelled in the event of inclement weather. Guests arriving before 4:00 PM will still be subject to parking fees from Sunken Meadow State Park.
