Public Lands Conversation with the Avi Kwa Ame Coalition
Join us on Thursday, July 21 at 5:00pm at the East Las Vegas Library for a conversation about our public lands and the Avi Kwa Ame National Monument proposal. We will be meeting at the East Las Vegas Library at 2851 E. Bonanza Road and we will provide light snacks and beverages.
Avi Kwa Ame is home to some of the most stunning and biologically diverse lands in the Mojave Desert. We’ll talk about its cultural, ecological, and historical significance and ways you can get involved to help establish Nevada’s next national monument.

Latinx Voices in Nature with MDLT & COFEM
Join us at 5pm on Thursday July 21st as Consejo de Federaciones Mexicanas (COFEM) and MDLT celebrate #LatinoConservationWeek and the Latinx connection with the outdoors by enjoying poetry art from Latinx artists with ties to the California desert. Featuring poet Juan Delgado, Professor Emeritus of CSUSB; Stephanie Godoy, Teaching Artist at the Getty Museum for Summer 2022; Cecelia “Cece” Cruz, Chicana artist, muralist, and illustrator from Coachella Valley: and 19-year old artist Laia Torres.
