
Clínica de pesca gratis del NYSDEC en el Harlem Meer

Participe en una clinica de pesca gratis para principiantes organizado por el Departamento de Conservación del Estado de Nueva York (NYSDEC) en el Harlem Meer, en el condado de Nueva York, el 16 de septiembre de 2025, de 5:00pm a 7:00pm.
Los participantes recibirán instrucción práctica básica de pesca y aprenderán sobre identificación de peces, gestión pesquera, técnicas de pesca y mucho más.
Todo el equipo de pesca y la caranda sera proveído. No se requiere registro ni licencia de pesca para participar.
El evento se asigna por orden de llegada y el espacio es limitado.
Las clases de pesca tomaran lugar en el Harlem Meer, al oeste del Dana Discovery Center.

About this event:
Participate in a free beginner's fishing clinic hosted by NYSDEC at the Harlem Meer, New York County on September 16th, 2025 from 5PM-7PM.
Participants will receive basic hands-on fishing instruction and will learn about fish identification, fisheries management, fishing techniques and more!
All fishing gear and bait will be provided. No registration or fishing license is required to participate.
The event is first comes, first served and space is limited. Fishing instruction will take place at the Harlem Meer, west of the Dana Discovery Center. Email fwfish2@dec.ny.gov for more event information and weather-related updates.

Water for Life, A Film Screening
Acompáñenos a la proyección gratuita del documental "Water for Life" para celebrar la Semana de Conservación Latina. La película destaca a tres defensores del agua en Chile, Honduras y El Salvador. Después de la película, tendremos una platica para tejer la conexion entre todas las aguas del mundo. La proyeccion se ofrece en español con subtitulos en inglés. $5 tarifa de estacionamiento para cada vehiculo. Estacionamiento gratuito para miembros del FRGNC.
Join us for a free film screening of the documentary “Water for Life” to celebrate Latino Conservation Week. The film highlights three water defenders in Chile, Honduras and El Salvador. We will have a talk after the film to bridge connections between bodies of water across the world. The screening is offered in Spanish with English subtitles. $5 parking fee per vehicle. FRGNC members park for free.
Latino Outdoors Central Coast | Kayaking in Morro Bay
Kayak Adventure: We will kayak for approximately two hours from 9:00 -11:00 am. Sub Sea Tours will provide the kayaks, paddles, and life jackets for all participants. Kayaking experience is not required. Single and double kayak assignments will be determined by experience. We hope to view sea otters, sea lions, birds, and other wildlife. We may paddle to the sandspit and take a short walk to explore.

Community Cleanup - Otay Valley Regional Park
Come celebrate River Day and Latino Conservation Week with San Diego Coastkeeper at Otay Valley Regional Park from 9-11 am on Saturday, September 20th! This event is open to people of all ages, and park rangers will be on-site to educate and lead volunteers through activities. Cleanup Information
Meet at the dirt lot and look for the blue Coastkeeper canopy. We will walk you through some safety information and make sure you are adequately equipped to help.
Please wear comfortable clothes, closed-toed shoes, and sunscreen.
All volunteers (individuals as well as groups) are welcome to participate. All minors will require a parent or guardian to be present.
Weather Cancellation Policy
If it is lightly raining, we will hold the cleanup. If there is heavy rain, we will cancel the cleanup. To check the cleanup status, please see the San Diego Coastkeeper events calendar or visit us on social media.

Green Drinks with Mountain Mamas

Together, we work to ensure that families, especially those most impacted have a seat at the table in environmental decision-making.
On Thursday, September 18, join Arizona Program Manager, Selina Barajas, as a guest speaker for Green Drinks Tucson, a monthly happy hour for conservationists and community members to hang out, network, and exchange ideas. These gatherings are open to anyone who shares an interest in conservation and the environment, so bring a friend or two! This event is free and open to all.
