Bringing National Parks to Columbia Heights Farmers Market

Event Description:

Columbia Heights was one of the first Latino neighborhoods in the District of Columbia. The National Park Service, Latin American Youth Center, and Hispanic Access Foundation have come together to celebrate Latino Conservation Week. We'll have a table at the Farmer's Market where we will have an activity for Junior Rangers to earn badges, we'll be sharing the Park Rx, NPS program in which NPS partners with health care providers and others to reduce chronic disease, increase health, and foster stewardship of our public lands by enabling doctors to educate their patients about healthy recreation and prescribe nature interactions as part of overall healthcare.
