Invasive species education and removal around Headquarters, 6975 Mower rd, Saginaw, MI (Autumn Olive and Buckthorn).
SVRC Youth Conservation Corp will be learning about invasive plant species that have taken over large areas of public lands. Youth will also learn techniques on how to remove invasive species, while also learning about multiple career choices.
Kayak Tour en el Bear Creek Lake y Kayak y Barbacoa
Como parte de la semana de la Conservación Latina el Mississippi River State Park estará presentando este programa en español. Kayakear es una excelente manera de explorar el lago Bear Creek. Podrán disfrutar de una gran variedad de flora y fauna. También de la belleza y paz que nos provee Crowley’s Ridge. Se cubrirán técnicas básicas de remar, así que no importa si son principiante o expertos, todos son invitados. Nos aseguraremos que todos se sientan cómodos en su kayak antes de empezar. Para concluir esta aventura nos reuniremos en el área de uso diario para preparar “hot dogs” y concluir nuestro pasadía en el parque.

Adobe Brick-Making at Casa Grande Ruins National Monument
In honor of Latino Conservation Week, Casa Grande Ruins National Monument will be hosting a bilingual workshop on adobe brick-making on Friday, July 20, 2018. This hands on activity will begin at 9:00 a.m. and will run through 2:00 p.m. outside of the Visitor Center. Stop by, get your hands dirty and learn about some of the natural materials used for centuries to build pre-historic and historic homes and buildings!
Latino Conservation Celebration Day at Fire Island
Join the Friends of Fire Island National Seashore for a day of family fun as we celebrate Latino Conservation Week at Watch Hill!
Meet at Patchogue Watch Hill Ferry Terminal (150 West Ave) to embark on the ferry to Watch Hill. There will be a lifeguarded beach & Sandy Salty Soccer throughout the day. A Lifeguard Surf Rescue Demonstration will be held on the beach at 11 AM. A ranger led Canoe Tour will take place at 11 AM. **Space is limited and reservations are taken on a first come first serve basis starting at 10 AM** From 10:30 AM – 1 PM Seaside Story Time & Crafts will be taking place at the Dune Station – we will have a bilingual reading of Joel Harper’s “All the Way to the Ocean”. At 2 PM Catch of the Day/Marine Seining will occur **water shoes recommended** \

Join Park Rangers for an informative, bilingual tour on the history of communities living in the Columbia Heights neighborhood! It will begin at the Columbia Heights Civic Plaza at 7:00 p.m. and end at the Central American Resource Center at 8:00 p.m.
