Families United Gaining Accessibility (FUGA) & Reconciliación En El Rio Presenta: Chubascos Y Bicis (An LCW Kickoff Event)

Event Description:

Join us as we kick off LCW! Learn about the environmental history of the Santa Cruz River in Tucson, AZ; the monsoons, the flora and fauna, and more! Ride in community and learn about water in the Sonoran Desert on your bicycle! Make seed bombs, get the blood pumping, celebrate Latino Conservation Week, drink Agua Frescas, and get to know the wildlife living along the Santa Cruz River and Sweetwater Wetlands. If you need a bike reserve one courtesy of FUGA!

We will meet up at the City of Tucson Ward 1 Council Office starting at 7:45am.  We will head out by 8:15 and make our first stop at the Santa Cruz River Heritage Project the https://www.tucsonaz.gov/Departments/Water/Water-Projects-Programs/Water-Arts-and-Culture/The-Santa-Cruz-River-Heritage-Project, then we are off to the SweetWater Wetlands, and finally back to the Ward 1 Office. We will have plenty of ice water on hand and support from FUGA and other teams. 

Please be prepared to ride 10 miles roundtrip, be sun ready with sun block, a water bottle, a hat and sunglasses and spread the word! Nos vemos this Sunday morning... Happy Latino Conservation Week!
