Latino Conservation Week Celebration

Event Description:

Mark your calendars! #LatinoConservationWeek is happening from July 17th - July 25th this summer and we can't wait to celebrate.
LCW is an annual initiative of Hispanic Access Foundation celebrating outdoor engagement & conservation advocacy by Latino communities across the country and we are excited to bring it to Hackettstown.
From nature discovery walks to gardening classes and fishing activities for children and adults, these activities promote conservation efforts in our community and provide an opportunity for Latinxs to show their support for permanently protecting our land, water, and air.
 
Some of the activities planned:
  • Fishing
  • Park clean-up
  • Gardening with wildflowers
  • ANJEC presentation
  • Children's science activity
  • Insects of the Musconetcong River
  • Group nature discovery walk
  • "Bike Safety" presentation by Marty's Reliable Cycle
  • Recycle and upcycle projects by Kaleidoscope Science
  • Wildlife presentation By Animal Control Officer “Robbie”
  • "Sustainable Farming and Healthy Eating" presentation By Foodshed Alliance – Local Share and more!
